The Shadow Project
Sometimes even a Fae princess has to agree to an impossible bargain. Unfortunately there’s no “fair” in Fae.
Exiled Fae princess Reine has gotten comfortable in the Earth realm, but she’d drop it all in a heartbeat to return home to Faerie. When her scornful mother proposes a pact, Reine knows she better be careful, because Fae bargains are always loaded with tricks…
On the same day she agrees to help smoke out a traitor on a team of scientists, an invisible shifter attacks her in her supposedly ultra-secure home and a teleporting kitten adopts her. She suspects it’s all connected, but time is running out for her to figure out how. After discovering a shadowy manipulator is intent on seeing her fail, Reine must confront a deadly conspiracy that reaches into the Fae realm and could spell the end for her kind.
Can Reine unmask a sinister cabal before she loses her ticket home…or her life?
The Shadow Project is the mesmerizing first book in The Fae Files urban fantasy series. If you like snarky heroines, memorable creatures, and thrilling mysteries, then you’ll love Cecilia Dominic’s spellbinding story.
Rejoice Lycanthropy Files universe lovers! The Fae Files are here.
Reine was a beloved character in the third Lycanthropy Files novel Blood’s Shadow, and when I started writing her story, I fell in love with her. She’s fun, snarky, powerful…and complicated. So is the romance she’s going to have. As per usual, romance is a subplot, so don’t worry, Urban Fantasy lovers, this isn’t paranormal romance.
Oh, and did I mention there’s a kitten? I started writing The Shadow Project in November when my husband and I were at the family cabin in Blairsville, and I was missing Timothy Mouse. Sir Raleigh the mysterious gray kitten is more than a little based on Timothy. Sir Raleigh is also more than just a cat.
The Shadow Project has gotten more positive reviews right at the start than any of my books so far. Here are some of them:
“The main character was increasingly fascinating and I never found myself wanting to quit reading the story. I finished it all rather quickly and would definitely recommend this book to others wanting to try this author out.” – 5-star Booksprout review
“The characters are magical and real. The story is wonderfully written. I liked it a lot.” – 5-star Bookbub review
“I am riveted and cannot wait to see what happens next!” – 5-star Amazon review
